Corbin Bosch named replacement for injured Anrich Nortje in CT Squad
All-rounder Corbin Bosch named replacement for injured Anrich Nortje. Fast bowler Nortje named in the South African Champions Trophy squad but ruled out after just two days due to back an injury.
Nortje was preferred over Gerald Coetzee du to his experience and Coetzee name pooped up as a replacement but he also has fitness issues and do not make it to squad. 30-year-old Bosch recently made an impressive debut against Pakistan in test matches where he scored 81 not out in first innings followed by a duck in second outing alonwith his 5 wickets in the match.
Bosch also made his ODI debut in the same series and so far featured in 1 ODI match where he scored 40 not out and picked up a solitary wicket. He is not a like to like replacement as Nortje generate some good speeds in his bowling whereas Bosh is a medium fats bowler but can contribute some useful runs with the bat.
Along with Bosch, young fast bowler Kwena Maphaka also named in the squad as a travelling reserve mainly as a cover for Lungi Ngidi who is also struggling for fitness and missed lots of matches in SA20 league. Maphaka is an out and out fats bowler and at just 18 years of age he already clocked 151 MPH in his 2 match ODI career with a best 4/42.
