ICC Cancel Champions Trophy Event November 11 due to Scheduling Dispute

In turns of events and as expected scheduled announcement of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is being delayed. ICC Cancel Champions Trophy Event which is scheduled to take place on November 11 in Lahore has been postponed. As per the sources BCCI has informed ICC that Team India is not allowed to take part in the global event taking place in Pakistan.

For every series scheduled in Pakistan BCCI takes approval from the Government officials in India for the security clearance due to tension between the two neighbors. India has not featured in an international cricket match in Pakistan for decades now however Pakistan has regularly played in India during ICC events.

Interestingly both Pakistan and India were the finalist of last ICC CT Trophy held in 2017 in England on which Pakistan came out as victorious and was all set to defend the title at home soil before the emergence of this new scheduling crisis of Champions Trophy.

As per the news sources, India is asking for a Hybrid model with Indian matches to take place in any other country. Now all eyes are on ICC, BCCI, and PCB to look out for an amicable solution for the situation that arises because of the dispute.

The schedule of CT 2025 already been announced with the event to take place in Pakistan from 19th Feb to 9th March but this is the tradition of ICC to have an official schedule announcement ceremony 100 days before the start of the event which was on November 11.

PCB has made great investments in their stadium for the event and recently all major cricket nations including Australia, England, and New Zealand have taken part in the cricket matches held in Pakistan without any issues.

Several news media agencies stated that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi is not open to a hybrid model and wants ICC to stand by its decision to stage the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
