Mitchell Starc withdraws from Champions Trophy 2025
Another set back for Australia as they lose services of another premier fat bowler as Mitch Starc Mitchell Starc withdraws from Champions Trophy 2025 event due to personal reason.
Australia already lost the services of experienced duo Captain Pat Cummins and Josh Hazelwood who both ruled out of CT event earlier due to injury. Current ODI world cup champions Australia will now be needing to alter their plans as they will be short of experience in fast bowling department.
Starc had 244 ODI wickets and have pivotal role in Australiaโs ODI success since making debut back in 2010. Other than the pace trio all-rounder Mitch Marsh also ruled out of the event which means Australia will be presenting a new look side with experience batter and former captain Steve Smith named as captain for mega event.
Fast Bowlers Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis and Spencer Johnson has been included in the squad for Champions Trophy with Jake Fraser and Tanveer Sangha.
