Shakib, Litton misses out in Bangladesh Champions Trophy squad
Veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hassan was left out of the Bangladesh Champions Trophy squad for 2025 edition of the global event along with experienced wicket keeper batter Litton Das.
Shakib Al Hassan axing was on the cards after he was banned for bowing in international cricket due to suspect action whereas Litton lost his place due to string of low scores which leads his inclusion.
Najmul Hossain Shanto will be leading the side in the mega event which his side has never won. Mushfiqur Rahim, Towhid Hridoy and Mustafizur Rahman also returning to the squad which includes many young players. Veterans like Mushfiqur Rahim, Somya Sarkar and Mahmudullah have to lead the batting unit with skipper Shanto whereas youngsters like Jaker Ali and Towhid Hridoy will be supporting them.
Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman will be leading the bowling attack with later one making a comeback. Bangladesh new pace sensation Nahid Rana also maintaining his place and will be a player to look out for.
Rishad Hossain and Mehidy Hassan Miraz will be spin bowling all-rounders. Miraz has been a key player in Bangladesh limited over team and will play a key role if Bangladesh needs to get through a round of matches. Nasum Ahmed is the lone specialist spinner in the side with veteran Mahmudullah can also role his arm over in spin conducive condition.
